Ripponden GardenBefore and After
This stone property set deep in the Calderdale Valley, with extensive hillside views, was surrounded on three sides by a wide tarmac drive, isolating it from the garden area.
An addition to the house of a double garage, extra bedroom and bathroom was a project I carried out in this Ripponden garden over 20 years ago, removing the cars from the rear. This provided the opportunity to tie in house and garden.
Adding a generous stone terrace to the rear brought the house almost level with the outside, giving a grand sitting out view of the whole of the garden (and hills beyond). It also had the effect of reducing the previously rather unattractive high cill heights to the lounge windows. Planting softens the whole effect.
